WHY DOES THE STATE OF MINAS GERAIS PRODUCE GREEN PROPOLIS?
In Minas
Gerais State the vegetation is extremely heterogeneous and disturbed. A great
number of species are important to the honeybees, offering nectar, pollen and
resins substance.
In areas
of early successional stage, can be found Baccharis dracunculifolia (alecrim
do campo) how predominant species.
The
species Baccharis dracunculifolia has been indicated as
the main source of resin supplier to the bees and the main responsible for the
formation of the green propolis in the State of Minas Gerais, considering the
percentile indexes of the vegetable fragments of this species, found in the
microscopic analyses of the studied propolis and a great number of bees that
ghatered resin in this plant.
