In view of current information related
to the GMO (Genetically Modified Organism) food production, please be informed
that we have been following the research developments and discussion on the
subject closely, especially the Government measures on this concern. Conap works
according to Brazilian Legislation, controlled by “Ministério da Agricultura
e do Abastecimento”: “Normative Instruction Nr. 3, dated January 19th
2001”.
Considering that
genetically modified propolis material is not produced or authorized by the
Brazilian Government, we assume that all propolis in Brazil is free of genetic
modification.
Considering the Official Certificate for Bee products, emitted by
Agriculture Ministry of Brazil, Conap certifies that raw propolis was handled
under hygienic conditions, under the control of federal sanitary authorities; do
not contain, and were not prepared with the addition of any chemical
preservative coloring matter or other substance harmful to human health.
Based on the above mentioned, we inform that Conap – Cooperativa
Nacional de Apicultura Ltda. process propolis in natura, acquired from
local small producers, beekeepers associated, and our propolis are not
genetically modified.
